Kale, Jeremy Iverson and I

Today my trustworthy deck hand Kale got up at the crack of dawn actually 3 A.M. to go fishing with me. We also invited Jeremy Iverson to come along. We were curious to see if yesterday was a fluke. It sure wasn't we hooked 12 fish and landed 6 Jeremy landed all of his fish Kale lost more than we want to talk about, but there were plenty of other fish that wanted to bite his eggs. A guide boat was there and enjoyed getting schooled by a 6 year old every time we went by him we would hook up, it was very fun and exciting for all of us. It sure is enjoyable to watch your 6 year old catch fish almost as big as he is. He loves to fish and be on the water. The other kids had swim team this morning so they were a little bummed they couldn't come again. The water remains high and they say it will remain high until the runnoff ends, maybe 2 more weeks. I don't mind it keeps the "Bankies" out of the water it's so high they can't fish. We had to launch in the canal today. The fish continued to come on eggs and spin and glows with the same recipes.

June 16, Opening day Summer Chinook

Today was the opening day for Summer Chinook. I decided that my best option to catch fish was to head to Ringold. The water was so high that we had to launch at the wooden power line boat launch. It was 13 feet higher than I've ever seen it. I started the day off with Cameron and Vard in the boat, we quickly hooked up our first king within 10 minutes. We proceeded to catch 3 total in the first 2 hours. They got out and I loaded up my family we proceeded to catch another 6 fish in the next few hours. The kids had a great time catching these kings. We lost several other fish. We would have caught more but Heather left her catch card at home so we couldn't tag out her limit. All the fish came on eggs of various recipes, Recipe "321", "PCSBS" were the most productive with a spin and glow. Can't wait until tomorrow!
